RUMIPLUS is a precision-dried lucerne feed for dairy cows and other ruminants. Rumiplus, as a source of fibre, helps to encourage good rumen function; it is high in quality protein and is a highly palatable feed for cattle.
Feeding chopped and pelleted lucerne provides a quality diet without reducing the nutrient density. As a legume, Rumiplus is high in quality proteins, palatable, and should be considered the natural buffer for the cow’s rumen.
Encourages good rumen function in dairy cows
The structure and scratch factor of lucerne helps to increase rumination and saliva production in ruminants. Saliva contains high levels of natural bicarbonate which helps buffer the rumen and helps reduce acidosis. Rumiplus is the perfect fibre feed for diary cows to balance high-starch diets, and diets where wet, or acidic, silages are being fed.
Lucerne provides quality protein
The precision drying process used to produce Rumiplus, not only removes the water content of the plants, but at the same time reduces the degradability of the proteins, protecting approximately 50% of the protein for digestion later in the small intestine. This gives Rumiplus a good balance of Rumen Degradable Protein (RDP) and By-pass Protein (DUP).
Contains high levels of naturally occurring beta-carotene, antioxidants and vitamins
Studies have found that optimising beta-carotene and vitamin E levels in cattle aids fertility. Rumiplus is the perfect lucerne feed for dairy cows at pasture, or those off grass or on predominantly cereal-based rations.
Highly palatable feed
Cows are unable to sort Rumiplus out from the diet, resulting in less wastage.
The lucerne in Rumiplus is chopped to a length of 3-6cm, so it is easy to incorporate into the feed wagon with no additional chopping required.
Consistent and fully traceable
Every bale of Rumiplus can be traced back to the field the lucerne was grown in.
